My Week of Eggs: 7 Days of Simplicity and Surprising Wins

For the past seven days, I embarked on a little experiment: eating eggs every single day.

Let me say this was all brought by my son Zale. He challenged me with this. He knows about my journey to be a minimalist.

It wasn't some elaborate health kick or a sudden love affair with all things yolky. It was more of a curiosity, a desire to simplify one small part of my daily routine.

And honestly? The results surprised me in more ways than one.

The Unexpected Perks of Egg-Centric Living:

My Wallet Said "Thank You":
Let's be real, eggs are budget-friendly. Compared to many other breakfast or lunch options, a carton of eggs goes a long way, making a noticeable difference in my grocery spending.

Hello, Routine! My Day Became More Structured: Knowing I had a simple, reliable meal to look forward to made it easier to establish a daily rhythm. It was one less decision to make, freeing up mental energy for other things.

Calorie Control Became Surprisingly Easy: Eggs are filling and packed with protein. This meant I felt satisfied for longer, naturally leading to better portion control throughout the day.

Fast Food Cravings? Gone!: When you have a quick, healthy, and satisfying meal readily available, the allure of greasy takeout significantly diminishes. It was a welcome side effect!

Supporting My Neighbors Felt Good: I made a conscious effort to buy local eggs, which felt like a small but meaningful way to support farmers in my community. Knowing where my food came from added a layer of satisfaction.

Kitchen Cleanup? A Breeze!: Compared to whipping up more complex meals, the aftermath of cooking eggs is minimal. A pan and a plate – that's it! Less time cleaning meant more time for other things.

Goodbye, Processed Foods (Mostly): Focusing on eggs naturally pushed out some of the more processed breakfast and lunch options I might have otherwise reached for. It was a subtle shift towards cleaner eating.

A Little Boost of Self-Esteem: Surprisingly, this simple change made me feel a little better about myself. It was a small act of intentionality, a commitment to something positive, and that had a subtle but real impact on my overall mood.

The Bigger Picture: Simplicity and Freedom

Looking back at the week, the biggest takeaway wasn't just about the eggs themselves. It highlighted the profound impact of a minimal approach to life. When you simplify even one area, like your daily meals, it becomes easier to manage other aspects. There's a sense of freedom that comes with fewer choices and less complexity.

Moving Forward, Still Simple

I've since started incorporating other foods back into my menu, but I'm being intentional about it. The core principle of simplicity remains. I'm still experiencing many of the same positive results, proving that even small, consistent changes can have a significant impact.

Go Win: The Power of Consistent Right Actions

This little egg experiment reinforced a valuable lesson: "Go Win" is being consistent in doing the right things that allow for you to achieve the wins you have defined for your life. It doesn't always have to be grand gestures. Sometimes, the biggest victories come from the simple, daily choices we make.

For me, this week, those choices involved a humble egg. And the wins? They were surprisingly significant.
