What is your super power to be able to do the work you do?

Flexibility--As a teacher you must be flexible because at any moment your day will change and you have to be able to adjust and keep teaching.

What made you want to teach?

A teacher made a difference in my life and made me believe in myself. I want that for my students.

What gets you up everyday to go give your all to teaching?

I get up everyday because teaching is my passion and I want to make a difference in my student's lives. Even If I help just one student that is struggling, then I have done my job.

If you could change one thing about education, what would you change?

Funding. Education is the end all to everything. The state of Oklahoma needs to fund our children's future. These students will one day run this country and I don't know about you, but I want them to be educated.

Teachers are...

Mentors, cheerleaders, parents, students, counselors, whatever we need to be at the time to help our students.

What is one tip you would share to be a successful teacher?

All teachers need to understand that EVERY student is capable of learning, they just need someone to believe in them.

What would you do if you were not teaching?

Running a Cafe for a former employer.

Share the last time you you cried as a teacher.

It was my first year and I did not know what I was doing and the students could tell. At the end of the class one student told me I was not a good teacher. I bawled after he left.

Who inspires you in your work?

Ms. Nancy Bradley.

How would you describe a conversation with one of your students?

Very entertaining! LOL!

What is it that the world does not know about teachers?

Teachers really do care about the success of their students; we worry about them, and want them to be successful in life.

Who has been your biggest supporter?

My husband and my kids!
