#86 Chyla Rucker

I officially relocated to Guthrie in the seventh grade, a place that has always felt like home due to my grandparents residing here. My formative years were enriched by spending significant time in Guthrie during holidays, family gatherings, and church activities.

I graduated from Guthrie High School in 1996 and subsequently earned both my undergraduate and graduate degrees from Langston University. Throughout my career, I have worked in various fields, primarily centered around education. My professional experience extends to public relations, graphic design, and marketing/sales. Most recently, I held the position of Instructional Developer at Oklahoma State University while also pursuing my passion as a restaurateur.

In 2022, I followed my passion and established C+C Eatery alongside my brother, Jerry. Our goal was to introduce a new culinary option to our community. This decision marked the beginning of an exciting new journey, and the unwavering support and encouragement from my family have been instrumental in driving our success.

The greatest joy of my life is my daughter, a remarkable 14-year-old who is intelligent, talented, and beautiful. She has been a significant asset to our business, witnessing firsthand the journey of transforming ideas and dreams into reality. I take pride in providing her with a close and personal example of goal-setting and achievement.

Together, we enjoy shopping, exploring new culinary experiences, traveling, and attending concerts.

I look forward to continued success with C+C Eatery and the opportunity to share this journey with her.
