What's your favorite school supply?

My favorite school supplies to use as a teacher are felt tip pens in all different bright colors and markers. When I was a child my favorite supply was brand new crayons!!

Favorite thing about teaching?

My favorite thing about teaching is building relationships with my students. I enjoy getting to know them and their personalities. I love hearing stories about their interests and the things they like to do when they are not in school. There is always fun and interesting stories to be told daily by my first graders.

Who was your favorite teacher? Why?

My favorite teacher was Miss Simmons, my first grade teacher. I remember loving school and just enjoying her and her class.

What's your one tip for teaching?

My one tip for teaching is to be flexible! Things can change in an instant, you have to be able to just roll with it at times. Not every day will go exactly as planned so at many times you will need to adjust things and be flexible.

If you could change one thing about education, what would you change?

The only thing I would change about education is the amount of testing that is put on students. Some students do well with testing but others do not. I feel like there is a lot of stress put on students at such an young age.

If you didn't teach, what would you do?

If I didn't teach I would love to own a boutique.

One thing that makes you smile?

My family! I have a wonderful husband and two awesome boys, they make me smile everyday.
